Analysis of Drama

1. Character

    a. Marcel Cuvelier as Professor (male). The Professor is an elderly man.

    b. Claude Mansard as the Maid (female). The Maid is a stout, she always worrying about the Professor's health, has a red-faced woman.

    c. Rossete Zuchelli as the young Pupil (female). The young Pupil is aged 18. 

2. Characterization

    a. The Professor is an intellectual man, egoist, cold blooded murder, and he has psychology problem.

    b. The Maid is a strong, brave, smart, carefully, and she has psychology problem.

    c. The Young Pupil is a discipline, weak or strength of the body, and then she has high spirit and diligent student.

3. Setting of Times and Places

    a. Setting times: In the morning when summer reason.

    b. Setting places: In the office and dining room of a small French flat.

4. Plot

            The drama is using traditional plot structure. There are four sequential levels:

 

    a. Exposition

        The part of exposition is started from first story until pupil explains her purpose or willing to Professor.

    b. Complication

        The part of complication is started from Professor given lesson until Professor out of control because stress.

    c. Climax

       The part of climax is started when the Professor out control and kill the pupil.

    d. Resolution

The part of resolution is started when the maid come and explains something that has been her thinking. The maid has been given support or attention to the Professor but the Professor ignoring that. Then, they are had hidden body the Young Pupil.

5. Theme

The lesson drama advices about the Professor that maniacs to always teach pupils and don't let them go. There are many aspect; horror, comedy, psychological, and education.

6. Summary

This drama above summary, the form is man and society. It can be shown that the above story drama about a professor, he was a professor who is very intelligent, but because it is too smart even bring negative impact, that he felt depressed and stressed that it becomes a psychopath. Disorder is to kill the pupils for inner satisfaction. The killing of students by the professors was assisted by a helper from the professors.
